The inimitable voice of comedian earthquake has solidified a significant following in comedy unlike any other in his field. Embraced on the merit of his skill and talent alone, earthquake has cultivated a love affair with his fan-base only bestowed stars of television and film as his career explosion continues to simmer with the momentum of his steady rise. He speaks a unique language that's universally understood and he stands on his platform without fear as he reminds america of the ills that plague our people. This platform alone has garnered this washington d.c. Native a residence on the popular comedy circuit and his fans run the race spectrum, the gender spectrum, and the spectrum that crosses between average folk and major celebrity. "his delivery is perfect and what he says, regardless of what he calls it, is hilarious," exclaims mega media-mogul howard stern who is now calling him his new favorite comedian.how this father of three came to stumble on his gift, god only knows. He jumped into this genre without inspiration, without contemplation, but with raw, unadulterated instinct; something reflective in his impeccable timing, "i didn't get an epiphany watching pryor the way other comedians describe. It was just the best decision that day", explains earthquake. During an 11-year stint as an enlisted sergeant in the u.s. Air force, ?quake? Wrecked comic shop at ?tops and blues? A local talent night at elgin's air force base in ft. Walton beach, fl. Soon he would be touring the country from stage to stage, comedy taking form. The rest is history still in the making. Upon taking the leap into comedy full steam ahead, 'quake' makes a move to what is now known as the 'new aged hollywood', atlanta, ga. He takes the helm as owner and house host of uptown comedy corner where he not only nurtures his funny, but cultivates some of the greatest content he would be known for forever. While honing his skills, he also guides and gives platform to some of the most currently revered comics who've used the stages of uptown to sharpen their comedic swords. Night after night quake, the consummate professional, brought in the masses and any word of his absence would turn these same masses away. Soon television would give way to open doors for urban comics and earthquake begun to ace every opportunity. From bet's, comicview to hbo's def comedy jam, leaving his fans in stitches with his first half-hour comedy special for bet. He then parlayed his slam dunk comedic style securing coveted spots on comedy central's ?premium blend?, vh-1's ?the list? As well as a guest appearance on ?mad tv.? In 2004, earthquake signed a deal with touchstone television/abc to develop and star in his own sitcom. He also shot comedy central presents: earthquake!, and in february 2005 he starred in jamie foxx's comedy central special laffapalooza which aired hailing earthquake as an all-time favorite. He would then sign a deal with hbo to develop and shoot the 30 minute hbo comedy series special "one night stand" airing august 26th, 2005 to rave reviews.earthquake's distinctive dialect and strong intellect made him even more popular with mainstream audiences as time progressed, and it's about this time that he releases ?it's about got damm time? On dvd, this title grossly paralleling his emerging popularity and the quality of his work, a masterpiece. His 2005 performances are collectively hailed as smart, hilarious, edgy and honest. It is at this point that the evidence is clear. Earthquake has truly mastered and polished the purpose of comedy. Keep'em laughing, and while their mouths are open, feed'em the truth. Earthquake's increasing fame made him a special invited guest on bill maher's politically-driven talk show for hbo entitled, "real time with bill maher," receiving the first standing ovation from the studio audience since the show's debut. Earthquake's episode was unforgettable and gave mainstream america a glimpse into the mindsets of the urban populace. He then appeared as a guest on f/x's ?the orlando jones show? And the ?dennis miller? Show on cnbc, and gave remarkable presence on occasion on comedy central's ?weekend at d.l.'s?. And in 2006, audiences finally got what they?d been waiting for as he appeared as uncle mike, on the marquis (then upn now cw) sitcom, ?everybody hates chris?. Quake received additional nods this year as he reappeared as stand-up favorite on the 2006 tom joyner fantastic voyage, he made his first appearance on the soul beach music festival in aruba, and he headlined the resurgence of fan-favorite def comedy jam 2006 as well.with film being the natural progression, earthquake made a cameo appearance in ?getting played,? Starring vivica a. Foxx and bill bellamy. Currently, his big screen release, ?clerk's ii? Is due out late july 2006, and his second one this year, barnyard, an animated film, is due out early august of 2006. Earthquake's additional great looks include "the super stars of comedy" which sold out in every city booked, his two year appearance at magic johnson's ?midsummer night's magic weekend,? His performance at the infamous montreal comedy festival, and his headlining performance at the aspen comedy festival winning laughs from sold out crowds and winning the heart of new fan, whoopi goldberg. When asked if a ritual is to blame for his ineffable performances, quake says, ?prayer...but that's the way to keep you humble 'cause you don't control the gift. The only thing you control is the work. You don't control how it affects people. And I'm just blessed that it does affect people in a positive way.? Earthquake's first film appearance "getting played," starring vivica a. Fox and bill bellamy has recently been released to dvd, and his stand-up performances including, jamie foxx's ?laffapalooza,? 2004's latham entertainment's, walter latham presents, 2005's hbo comedy series special ?one night stand,?
